Oh my dear readers! Yes, it’s been so long! I have said over and over that this year has taken off like a rocket. I’ve strapped myself in and managed to hang on for the ride so far. I’ve been very busy with work but it sort of feels like “binge-working” since I don’t have a client base here were I live in rural North Carolina. Fortunately I don’t have such a far drive to Florida anymore and I am also developing a very receptive network in the Durham/Chapel Hill area where I go periodically to do sound journeys and private sessions.
I got back from my women’s sound healing retreat in Hot Springs, NC almost two weeks ago now but I had an issue with my hip as soon as I got back home and it really slowed me down. I am finally getting my instruments and art supplies back in order and also have started a 3-week refreshing spring cleanse which is making a huge difference. I have been feeling guilty though that I haven’t caught up with the things that have needed followup. Writing this, emailing my followers, connecting with the women who attended the retreat and updating my schedule on my website… Today I’m one step closer!
I was looking for a song about time- my first thought was David Bowie’s Cat People (“It’s been so long, it’s been so long”) but “putting out fire with gasoline” just didn’t feel like the right vibe and neither did Pink Floyd (you know the one!) because my days are never dull. They are wonderful even if I am alone and quiet in my house. My inner world is as rich as my outer world.
A few years ago my sister Miranda and I went to see the Zombies in Phoenix. It was so much fun and actually one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Musicians from our generation who didn’t die young just get better and better with age! Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone are two such musicians. Here is the original recorded version of Time of the Seasons- which is a song that never gets old! Below it I am posting a clip from the 2016 concert in Phoenix. Rod Argent is insanely amazing on the keyboard!!!
As an afterthought, I think I also need to add Steve Miller’s classic Fly Like An Eagle. It just feels right!
